Dr. Balan's research interests include nanotechnology, nanomaterials : metal nanoparticles, metal/polymer nanocomposites, synthesis of nanocomposites, design and characterization of metal nanoparticles and nanocrystals (quantum dots) suited for advanced applications in the fields of optic, photonics, plasmonics or biology.
